Juway Village Trek

This trek starts from Kathmandu driving through different villages with picturesque landscape and flowing Sukoshi River to Gurmi, after crossing the beautiful Sunkoshi River we take the dirt road to Salleri along with beautiful mountain views and Sherpa settlements. Salleri is the capital of Solukhumbu district and this is where the road ends. From here we start our trek leaving all the modern technologies behind and enter into the hidden villages walking through beautiful farm fields with different ethnics like Sherpa, Rai,Tamang,Bisokarma,Magar with their own cultures and languages, after walking through Changmiteng Basa and Juving villages for three days we finally arrive in Juway Village.
Juway is a Sherpa village of some 400 people including children, located in the Everest region of Nepal, 6500 ft. above sea level. Although this region is very popular with tourists many villages including Changmiteng, Basa, Juving and Juway are not situated on the main trekking routes. There are no roads in this region and travel is by footpath only. The villagers are all Sherpa people part of a very close community where everyone knows each other by name, through generations. After spending four days in these beautiful villages we now join the part of the Everest Base Camp Trek until to Namche Bazar for the Great view of Mount Everest and many other Himalayan Peaks, than we will return to Lukla and take beautiful 30 minutes morning mountain flight to Kathmandu.

Day 02. |
City sightseeing in Kathmandu |
Today after breakfast, we start a City guided tour to several of the most historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu. Some of these landmarks are considered World Heritage Sites including the historic Durbar Square, the famous 'Monkey Temple' (Swayambhunath) and Buddhists shrine (Buddha Nath) which is one of the largest Stupas in the world. In the afternoon, there will be a pre-trip discussion where we can meet our trek leader and other team members. BHT will brief you regarding your trek. Day 03. |
Kathmandu drive to Salleri |
After early breakfast we drive from Kathmandu to Salleri about 7-8 hours and overnight in lodge. |

Day 04. |
Salleri trek to Changmiteng Village |
From Salleri we begin our trek passing through beautiful villages and alpine forest to Changmiteng Village, in the evening visit the beautiful monastery. Overnight at camp. |

Day 05. |
Changmiteng trek to Hatemu village |
Before breakfast 45 minutes hike to Changmiteng view point at 3100 meters, the first view of mount Everest and other Himalayan ranges, after breakfast we continue our trek to Hatemu village via crossing Dudhkoshi River which comes from the mount Everest glacier. Overnight camp at beautiful rice field. |

Hatemu trek to Juway Village |
Another beautiful day and short trek through Rai and Bisokarma villages with amazing farming fields, this will be a great chance to learn how people here grow their crops without using any machine technologies, everything they grow is organic. Overnight camp at Juway village. |

Day 07. |
Explore Juway Village |
Explore Juway village visit monastery school and enjoy the warm hospitality of Sherpa people at their house, in the evening you are invited at Juway community hall for traditional culture performance and offered local made Alcohol (Rakshi) or non alcoholic drinks. |

Day 08. |
Juway trek to Paiyan Village |
After having great experience we continue our trek to Paiyan Village where you may meet few other westerners trekking to Everest base camp. It is great day walk entering in the Khumbu valley, overnight at camp |

Day 09. |
Paiyan trek to Phakding |
After breakfast trek through Surke and Chaurikharka villages and continue to Phakding. Once we cross Chaurikharka we will see full of trekkers and mountaineers who starts their trek from Lukla via flying from Kathmandu. Overnight at camp. |

Day 10. |
Phakding trek to Namche Bazar |
Flowing the Dudhkoshi River and crossing left and right through pine forest and final ascent to Namache Bazar. Overnight at camp. |

Day 11. |
Namche Bazar |
After breakfast hike to Everest view hotel, this is our highest point of the trek 3780meters with incredible view of Everest, Ama Dablam,Lotshe, Pumari and other mountain ranges. Afternoon visit Sherpa museum at Namche, there are several good coffee and bakery shops available so you can enjoy your afternoon at café shop. |

Day 12. |
Namche trek to Lukla |
Today is our last day trek, returning the same route till Chaurikharka than trek to Lukla. Evening farewell dinner party with your trek crews and time to say good bye. |

Day 13. |
Lukla fly back to Kathmandu |
Early morning fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel, easy afternoon, evening farewell dinner party by BHT. |

Transfer to airport |
Final departure to your own destination or join more trips. |
